Nudge Security

Nudge Security is a SaaS and AI security governance company founded in 2021 and based in Austin, Texas. IT and security teams at cloud-native companies use it to find the SaaS apps, AI tools, and connected accounts employees have set up, by monitoring mailboxes in Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. It then prompts employees over email, Slack, Teams, and the browser to fix risky habits.

Our take

Nudge Security is a strong pick for a cloud-native company that wants a full inventory of the SaaS and AI tools its employees use, at a price it can read on the website. Plans run $750 a month for up to 150 users and $5 per user per month up to 1,500. G2 reviewers praise the quick setup and say the first inventory can overwhelm, and the company is young, with a $22.5 million Series A in November 2025.

Who uses Nudge Security and what it's for

Nudge Security is built for IT and security teams at cloud-native companies of up to 1,500 users that need to find the SaaS apps and AI tools employees have signed up for, along with the accounts, sign-in methods, and OAuth grants that give people and apps access to them.1 Its best uses are finding shadow IT and shadow AI, mapping OAuth grants, assigning an owner to each app, and running offboarding and access reviews.1 On price, Nudge publishes $750 a month for up to 150 users and $5 per user per month for 150 to 1,500 users, while Grip Security, Torii, and Zluri list no prices and BetterCloud lists only a free spend module.1610117 Its main competitors are Grip Security and the SaaS management vendors BetterCloud, Torii, and Zluri, three of which have been acquired, plus browser-based tools such as Island.6789121415

Nudge's Series A announcement describes its customers as IT and security teams at cloud-native organizations in software, financial services, healthcare, biotechnology, and entertainment, and puts the count at nearly 200.3 The same release quotes Fredrick Lee, the CISO of Reddit, saying that within hours of deployment we gained complete visibility into our SaaS footprint across the organization. Its pricing page also features a KarmaCheck customer story that says the company recovered 150% of its annual investment within six months.31

It fits best for finding shadow IT and shadow AI, mapping OAuth grants and app-to-app integrations, assigning an owner to each app, running employee offboarding and user access reviews, and watching vendors for breaches.1 It also covers SaaS spend by flagging redundant apps and upcoming renewals.1

Nudge lists $750 a month for up to 150 users and $5 per user per month for 150 to 1,500 users, billed annually, with larger deals quoted.1 Grip Security describes its pricing as per human and asks visitors to request a price.6 BetterCloud asks for a quote on its platform and lists a Spend Optimization Basic module at $0 a month.7 Torii and Zluri show no prices on their pricing pages.1011 Push Security lists $5 per employee per month for up to 500 employees.13

Comparable products include Grip Security, BetterCloud, Torii, and Zluri, along with browser-based tools such as Island, which announced a $400 million Series F in September 2026.678912 Nudge's own site compares the product with SSPM tools, CASB products, AI security tools, browser solutions, and SaaS management platforms.1

Day one discovery from a connected workspace

We read the setup steps on Nudge's pricing page and compared them with what G2 reviewers said about getting started. Together they show how much work it takes to go from connecting a workspace to a first inventory of apps. Setup starts when an administrator connects Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. Nudge monitors the mailboxes of the users in that workspace to discover SaaS assets, and it says the result shows apps and identities created in the past, including the sign-in method for each account: SSO, social login, or username and password.1 It also maps OAuth grants, API tokens, service accounts, and other non-human identities.1 An optional browser extension adds real login metrics and lets Nudge prompt users in real time.1

Nudge says it has discovered more than 200,000 unique SaaS applications.2 One G2 reviewer reported that read-only access to a mail tenant produced a map of the full SaaS footprint within minutes.5

Nudges, playbooks, and governance

We read how Nudge describes the prompts it sends to employees and the workflows behind them. The company takes its name from these prompts, and its approach depends on employees acting on them. Nudge contacts the person who owns an app over email, Slack, Teams, or the browser with a short task such as turning on MFA or moving the app to SSO.1 Workflows handle employee offboarding and user access reviews, and the pricing page lists vendor security profiles for thousands of SaaS providers, alerts for supply chain breaches, and SaaS posture checks.1 Every customer can sign in to Nudge with Okta at no extra cost.1

Nudge reports more than 60 feature releases in the 12 months before November 2025 and more than 100 since 2022.32

Published pricing and how users are counted

We read the plan terms on Nudge's pricing page and how the page defines an active user. Nudge charges per active user, so that definition decides how many accounts a company pays for. Both published plans bill annually. Essential is $750 a month for up to 150 users, and Growth is $5 per user per month for 150 to 1,500 users, so 1,000 users comes to $5,000 a month.1 Enterprise pricing for larger companies is custom.1 The page also advertises a free trial, and the Series A release describes it as a 14-day trial with no credit card.13

An active user is a licensed Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 user with a mailbox, and the count includes guest, contractor, and shared-mailbox accounts. Nudge says organizations typically have 1.2 to 1.5 active users per employee.1 The plan does not limit how many people sign in to the Nudge platform, and a subscription expires at the end of its term without auto-renewing.1

Two founders and two funding rounds

We read Nudge's about page and its funding announcements for the founders' earlier jobs and the investors in each round. Funding and leadership both count toward Nudge's company durability score. Russell Spitler and Jaime Blasco founded Nudge Security in 2021 and launched the product in October 2022.3 Spitler previously led product and strategy at AT&T Cybersecurity, AlienVault, and Fortify Software. Blasco was a vice president at AT&T Cybersecurity, where he led AT&T Alien Labs, and the two co-founded the Open Threat Exchange.2

Seed funding reached $16.5 million when Forgepoint Capital joined the syndicate, and the Series A announced on November 18, 2025 added $22.5 million, led by Cerberus Ventures with Ballistic Ventures, Forgepoint Capital, and Squadra Ventures.43 Nudge says it has nearly 200 customers and has tripled annual recurring revenue two years in a row.3 Its address is in Austin, Texas.2

How it compares with Grip and the SaaS management vendors

We checked each rival's pricing page and its latest company announcement to find what it costs and who owns it now. A product that changes owners can change its prices and plans along with it. Grip, BetterCloud, Torii, and Zluri approach the same sprawl problem from different starting points. Grip offers a SaaS security control plane with SaaS posture management and identity threat detection and response.6 BetterCloud offers user automation, spend optimization, and workspace management.7 Zluri describes itself as a SaaS management and identity governance provider.9 Nudge covers discovery, security, spend, and governance in one subscription, and it posts plan prices where Grip, Torii, and Zluri list none and BetterCloud lists only a free spend module.1671011

Three of the four have been acquired. CoreStack announced its acquisition of BetterCloud on March 31, 2026.14 Torii agreed on October 12, 2026 to be acquired by Freshworks, which wrote on October 19, 2026 that it officially welcomed Torii to the team.815 Infotech announced the completion of its acquisition of Zluri on October 14, 2026.9 Nudge has raised $39 million in total.43

Where Nudge Security falls short

We went through the pricing page's fine print and what G2 reviewers disliked to find what a buyer could trip over. Reviewers say the first inventory is large and that sorting low-risk services takes effort, and one says apps that are more custom need re-configuration and labeling before they show up properly.5 A reviewer in the health, wellness, and fitness industry lists the lack of an endpoint component as a downside and says the product gives less value on day zero.5

The pricing page says each plan includes all features, then marks configuration security posture management, integration security posture management, and AI agents with ($) and does not explain the marker, so buyers need to ask Nudge whether those three features cost extra.1 Nudge also monitors every mailbox in a domain, with limited exceptions for large enterprise clients and design partners, so a company cannot license a subset of its users.1

Nudge has a short track record. It launched its product in October 2022, reports nearly 200 customers, and has 31 G2 reviews on AWS Marketplace, the newest from August 2026.35

What customers say

We read the 31 G2 reviews of Nudge on AWS Marketplace, where customers write about using it at work, and took three quotes on what works for them and three on what frustrates them.

Where it helps

Within minutes of granting read-only access to our mail tenant, Nudge Security mapped out our entire SaaS footprint, showing us unapproved cloud apps, GenAI tools, and risky OAuth grants that traditional security tools completely missed.

Hruthik G.G2 review on AWS Marketplace, August 12, 2026

Nudge is easy to use, easy to setup, the pricing was reasonable for a company our side as well and it integrated with most everything in our tech stack.

Imran K.G2 review on AWS Marketplace, May 19, 2026

I like that it automatically discovers SaaS applications and helps identify security risks without requiring agents or creating extra work for employees.

Amber W.G2 review on AWS Marketplace, July 18, 2026

Where it falls short

Sorting through all the low-risk web services and one-off logins can feel overwhelming at first.

Hruthik G.G2 review on AWS Marketplace, August 12, 2026

Some of the Apps that are more custom don't show up appropriately in the system and require a bit of re-configuration and labeling to define more appropriately.

Ronald L.G2 review on AWS Marketplace, May 18, 2026
