Our take
Hook is a sensible pick for small businesses and the managed service providers serving them: its prices are published, small plans can be bought by card, and its Autopilot program runs training and phishing tests on its own. It is a small company with few public reviews, and larger enterprises will find fewer controls than in bigger platforms.

Training that runs on its own
Hook's library holds 62 short video courses on phishing, social engineering, ransomware, AI and deepfake threats and passwords, plus compliance tracks for HIPAA, PCI DSS, GDPR, SOC 2 and ISO 27001.1 Phishing simulations draw on more than 1,000 templates and deliver training the moment someone clicks, and the company measures success by how often and how fast employees report a phishing email.1 Its Autopilot service schedules training, simulations and reports on a fixed cadence, and MSPs get multi-tenant management and client-ready reports.1 Hook calls its teaching method PsySec, for psychological security, which relies on humor and positive reinforcement.1
Published prices
Hook publishes its prices in U.S. dollars. Companies with up to 10 seats pay $499 a year and those with 11 to 60 seats pay $1,199 a year, both billed annually and bought online by card; organizations with 61 or more seats get a quote.2 Every plan includes the full course library, managed phishing simulations, compliance training and automated reports, with no setup fees, and MSP partners get reseller pricing.2
A school founder turns to security
Zach Eikenberry founded Hook in 2019 after running The NEXT Schools, two public high schools and a middle school in Greenville, South Carolina, from 2011 to 2018.1 He started it with his longtime friend Adam Anderson, who was concerned about how companies trained employees to spot threats.4 The South Carolina Research Authority invested in the company, and TampaBay.Ventures led its seed round in 2023.31 Hook is now based in Lakeland, Florida, with a fully remote team of more than 10, and says it serves more than 500 accounts and hundreds of MSP partners and trains more than 250,000 employees each month.1
How it compares with Hoxhunt and KnowBe4
Hoxhunt adapts phishing simulations to each employee and is sold mainly to larger enterprises on quoted prices. KnowBe4 has the largest content library in the category and quotes most deals. Hook is smaller and simpler than both, with a fixed program that runs itself, prices posted on its website and a sales model built around MSPs.
Limits
Hook has few public reviews. Its one review on TrustRadius asked for more ways to customize and brand templates and for simpler automatic enrollment of new employees, and a director at a network security firm wrote on Capterra in March 2022 that setup takes a while and that you need the help documentation to make full use of the tools.5 Hook has a small team and has not disclosed how much it has raised.1 Its plans are designed for MSPs and small businesses, so large enterprises with complex needs may want more control.1

What customers say
Quoted word for word from public reviews on TrustRadius, retrieved October 23, 2026. Each quote links to the review or post it comes from.
Where it helps
It integrated easily with O365 deployment.
Where it falls short
It would be nice to be able to customize templates even more and brand them.
