Companies worried about deepfake and voice phishing attacks on staff

Our take

Adaptive is the most up-to-date option in this category for companies that fear deepfake calls and AI-written phishing, and its founders and investors make it one of the best-funded newcomers in security. Prices are mostly quoted, it is young, and public customer reviews are still scarce.

Training against AI attacks

Adaptive runs phishing simulations by email, text and phone, including interactive voice deepfakes of a company's own executives, and pairs them with training content that it personalizes to each employee and organization.45 Adaptive now also covers agentic email security and AI governance, which warns, redirects or blocks staff who put sensitive data into AI tools, along with a risk score for every employee and integrations with identity, HR and GRC systems.1 It made a 15-part awareness series with Conan O'Brien.1

Mostly quoted prices

Adaptive's own pricing page asks buyers to contact sales for a custom package.2 Its AWS Marketplace listing, licensed per seat, shows one published package: Elite, for organizations with fewer than 100 employees, at $5,988 for 12 months, with discounts of up to 10% on 24-month terms and up to 20% on 36-month terms.3

Serial founders and a fast start

Brian Long and Andrew Jones, who earlier co-founded the ad-tech company TapCommerce and the marketing company Attentive, founded Adaptive in New York in 2024 and launched it publicly in January 2025, according to the company.1 In April 2025 it raised a $43 million Series A co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and the OpenAI Startup Fund, OpenAI's first investment in a cybersecurity company.4 A follow-on from OpenAI took the Series A to $55 million, and a Series B of more than $80 million in December 2025, joined by NVIDIA, Bain Capital Ventures, Capital One Ventures and Citi Ventures, brought total funding to almost $150 million.1 It says it passed 1,000 customers in March 2026 and 2,000 in September 2026, and opened offices in London and Sydney in May 2026.1

How it compares with Hoxhunt and Hook Security

Hoxhunt adapts email phishing tests to each employee and is strongest for large enterprises. Hook Security runs a fixed, low-cost program for small businesses through MSPs. Adaptive is the most focused of the three on AI-driven threats, with deepfake voice and text simulations, and it has spread into email security and AI governance as well.

Limits

Adaptive has one public review on TrustRadius, which praised the product and listed no complaints. Prices outside the AWS Marketplace package are quoted.23 The company is less than three years old, and its products beyond training are newer still.1

Only 26 out of 178 fell for our last phishing simulation last campaign. Much improvement.
